History
Washington Street Baptist Church began as a church on August 13, 1912. She has been serving the Lord in the same location for all these years. Each year we celebrate her anniversary on the second Sunday in August.
We are a family oriented church, reaching out to families in the community around us. We strive to preach and teach the truth in love, and to make every effort to support our members in their personal crisis. We believe in using our privilege of prayer and encourage each member to be a part of our prayer ministries. We are always looking for those wishing to be a part of this church and its ministries.
A Few Things We Believe

Salvation is a gift that comes by grace through faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Security of being once saved, always saved. |
| 2. |
Baptism is by submersion in water, administered by the Lord's church to believers only. It adds them to the Lord's church and identifies them with Jesus Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. |
| 3. |
The Bible is the inspired word of God, and is the rule of faith and practice for the believer. Its author is the Holy Spirit. (We use the KJV.) |

The church is local, visible, and is the bride of Christ. |
| 5. |
The church is the only authority in keeping the truths of God's word, making decisions for our Lord, and carrying out mission work on this Earth. |
| 6. |
All financial support of the church comes through tithes and offerings of the membership. |
| 7. |
The church has two God ordained offices; namely, pastor and deacon. |
| 8. |
The church has two ordinances to keep; namely, baptism and the Lord's supper. |
| 9. |
The premillennial return of Jesus Christ the Lord in the air, and seven years following, His return to the Earth. |
